The future of coding? Jetbrain's AI Assistant and GitHub Copilot go head-to-head

AI coding assistants are increasingly finding their way into modern software development. In this presentation, we will pit two popular representatives against each other in a virtual battle: The top dog GitHub Copilot and Jetbrain's AI Assistant, which has been integrated into the well-known IDEs IntelliJ, Webstorm, ReSharper etc. for several months. An exciting competition is emerging.

We are analysing in particular: Who is ahead in terms of supporting which use cases? Which criteria can and should play a role in the decision in favour of one of the two tools? Which features are exclusively available in only one of the two tools?

The end result is a clear overview of the current capabilities, strengths and weaknesses of both AI coding assistants, as well as a feel for how these assistants can be used by software developers in their day-to-day work. We also present initial results on how well the tools support development according to Domain Driven Design.
