Day 2 - Architecture and Event-Driven Modelling

Day 2 moves to architecture and prepares you for modularity, the use of ports and adapters, event-driven and other powerful architectural tools as you develop new Bounded Contexts through practical exercises and homework. Participants will learn how to develop a pervasive language within a Bounded Context using Event Storming, Extreme Modeling, and Context Topo Maps. Participants will use these tools to achieve a common understanding of a core domain and sub-domains.

Day 3 - Tactical Domain-Driven Design

On Day 3, we shift our focus to tactical design, giving you the skills to make the right decisions for finer-grained modelling within a core domain. Whether it is the use of entities, value objects, aggregates, domain events or domain services that best suits your specific modelling situation, you can use any of the tactical tools in your own core domain project. Learn the advantages and disadvantages of each tool and when another tool offers better benefits.

Day 4 - Strategic design meets implementation

On Day 4, we put all the pieces together to create a microservice (or application). We look at different ways to persist aggregates using object-relational mapping, document databases, key-value stores as well as event sourcing. We then dive deep into the application of context mapping techniques and return to strategic design, but this time by developing integration solutions between core domains and other bounded contexts in your overall system solution. We also look at other parts of the application, such as the user interface and querying with CQRS. We also take a look at supporting REST front-ends and application services, if required. With this background knowledge, you will be well equipped to tackle your own DDD project or to further advance your current strategic DDD initiative.
