DDT at IT.UV: Rethinking the business processes of the employers' liability insurance association as a product landscape

As the IT service provider of the BGW (German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the Health and Welfare Services), IT.UV is converting the previous "monolithic" software to a microservice-based system landscape based on DDD with a model-driven approach as part of an extensive transformation project.

The first steps were taken in 2019 by creating a comprehensive map of the relevant functional contexts. Since 2022, these contexts have been successively developed by several parallel teams and supported with new systems. Development teams and business experts have been working closely together to rethink the business processes in the best possible way.

In this presentation, we describe the project from the perspective of one of the teams and how it uses scenario-based methods to familiarise itself with the business requirements in order to support them in the best possible way with software.
