Abstract:

In order to increase the public transport market share in Hamburg to 30% by 2030, the city is focusing on the Hamburg-Takt - every Hamburg resident should be able to use a public transport service within five minutes. To achieve this, over 650 new bus stops need to be planned and built.

With the "BauVision+" study, the LSBG's DigiLab has developed an AR/VR-based solution in collaboration with WPS to support efficient infrastructure planning. Using 3D models and virtual reality, stakeholders can work together cooperatively, experience planning variants immersively, recognise obstacles at an early stage, adjust bus stop locations realistically and incorporate real environmental data directly.

This innovation is an important step towards supporting the mobility transition in Hamburg and establishing public transport as an attractive alternative to private transport.

Abstract:

How do you add AI functionalities to existing software applications without building everything from scratch? Using the emigration portal "Auswanderungslotse" as an example, we will show in a practical way how intelligent answers can be integrated using embeddings, a vector database and Langchain.

The challenge: to support advisors in answering complex enquiries. We share our experience of implementing a microservice that finds and provides semantically similar historical answers. We will provide valuable insights into feasibility, architectural decisions, pitfalls and success factors when integrating generative AI into existing applications.

Abstract:

With this proof of concept, we show that existing software can be transformed into an intelligent process control system through the use of AI models. The aim is to use agile hypothesis validation to check the technical feasibility of AI models and at the same time to demonstrate the potential of this further development.

Abstract:

The scaling of agile teams often takes place without the necessary organisational and technical skills having been built up beforehand. This leads to mismatches, silo structures and a lack of relevant feedback in the further development process. Roles such as developers and architects work at cross-purposes. Important stakeholders are not included in the process. As a result, organisations can neither deliver quickly nor learn effectively or develop products that offer real added value.

In this presentation, three tried-and-tested principles will be presented that support teams in successfully implementing agile scaling - regardless of the chosen framework.

Abstract:

Projects often start in chaos: different perspectives, competing ideas and excessive detailed knowledge make it difficult to get started. Orientation is provided by carefully selected key scenarios that depict concrete technical processes from practice.

These scenarios structure the confusion, make technical language, players and sub-processes understandable and enable all participants to develop viable solutions together. Precise user stories can be derived from them, which align the product backlog and serve as the basis for acceptance tests.

With each realised scenario, the common understanding grows, new scenarios can be developed more easily and the software develops step by step - supported by clarity instead of complexity.

Drones have long been established in the consumer sector. However, drones are still rarely used in an industrial context. The main challenges are strict regulation and the complex integration of hardware and software.

Abstract:

A spectre is haunting the world - the spectre of artificial intelligence (AI). The main drivers of the current AI boom are Large Language Models (LLMs), as they communicate in natural language and do not require any technical knowledge, making them usable for a wide audience.

Many expectations and hopes are pinned on these new tools, especially in the corporate sector. In practice, disillusionment often follows and the LLMs seem less useful than expected. However, this is often due to the fact that the LLMs are not being utilised optimally.

We will clarify which tasks are suitable for LLMs and how LLMs should be operated in order to utilise their full potential.
