Project manager, consultant, software architect
Dr Sönke Magnussen
Dr Sönke Magnussen studied computer science at the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel and received his doctorate in software engineering and programming languages from the University of Lübeck in 2003. After completing his doctorate, Sönke moved to Lufthansa, where he worked in various roles (software developer, IT architect, manager with management responsibility) on maintenance and further development, architecture projects and operational issues relating to larger software systems and application landscapes.
Sönke remains true to his great passion (software development and IT architecture) even after several excursions into process automation with Robotics Process Automation (RPA), AI, Natural Language Processing and now brings his wealth of experience to WPS customer projects as an IT architect, IT consultant, trainer and project manager. The focus of his work lies in the transformation of larger systems/landscapes and organisations with the aim of making the systems future-proof for digitalisation or other major challenges. In most cases, this means a transformation towards modular IT architectures, cloud technology and DevOps to enable more agile adaptation of software and more flexible and secure operation of IT systems. Domain-Driven Design (DDD) often forms the foundation for the development of an appropriate IT architecture and the correct structure of the IT organisation.
