Project Manager, Consultant, Software Architect

Dr Sönke Magnussen

soenke.magnussen@wps.de

Dr Sönke Magnussen studied computer science at the Christian-Albrechts University in Kiel and completed his doctorate in software engineering and programming languages at the University of Lübeck in 2003. After completing his doctorate, Sönke moved to Lufthansa, where he worked in various roles (software developer, IT architect, manager with leadership responsibility) on the maintenance and further development, architecture projects and operational issues of larger software systems and application landscapes.

Sönke remains true to his great passion (software development and IT architecture) even after several excursions into process automation with robotics process automation (RPA), AI, natural language processing and now brings his wealth of experience to WPS customer projects as an IT architect, IT consultant, trainer and project manager. The focus of his work is on the transformation of larger systems/landscapes and organisations with the aim of making the systems future-proof for digitalisation or other major challenges. Mostly, this means a transformation towards modular IT architectures, cloud technology and DevOps to enable a more agile adaptation of software and a more flexible and secure operation of IT systems. Domain-Driven Design (DDD) often forms the foundation for the development of an appropriate IT architecture and the right structure of the IT organisation.
